Remember friends are the family you choose.
Kata Competition
This in house (dojo) event started in 1995 to build character, confidence and self-esteem in the student and the instructors.
The competition is free to all members of the club; it happens three or four times a year and is usually divided up into three divisions:
-
Karate Kata
-
Kobudo Kata
-
Shaolin Hsing (Forms)
-
The divisions are then sub-divided into age, rank and ability.
There are usually five judges of Black and Brown rankings who watch stances, techniques and ability. These judges in turn give scores that range between 6.0 and 9.9 to the competitors performing Kata.
Practice hard and remember we do not train for tournaments we use tournaments to train. Please be there as these Kata Competitions are a part of your training. |
